Between 1988 and 1991, Pleasurewood Hills was home to the Haunted Castle. The unique attraction was marketed in its opening year as "A thrilling, chilling, comical show for mum, dad and all you youngsters".
Brave guests would enter a pre-show area before being directed through to the theatre. The main show featured a mixture of visual, lighting and audio effects combined with live actors. The Haunted Castle show came to an end in 1991 and the building was rethemed to become the Castle Theatre for the 1992 season.
The team at the British Theme Park Archive have successfully unearthed the entire audio recording of both the pre-show and main feature, which can be listened to in their entirety online.
So close your eyes and prepare to re-enter the Haunted Castle for the first time in 30 years!
